ASUU Strike Nigeria update: Will the ASUU strike end on the 9 May? As Minister of Education Pleads with the Fedral University workers.
Nigeria minister of education, Mallam Adamu Adamu pleads with the federal university workers as their was no quick responds quick to their demand.
This is the eight-week strike extension by the Academic Staff Union of University will end on the 9th of May 2022.
However, no clear end to the lingering strike action has been laid on ground.
The permanent secretary ministry of Education, Andrew David Adejo spoke on behalf of Adamu on Thursday.
He represented the minister education on a meeting the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige call to resolve the issue of the strike.
Adejo spoke to the leaders of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non Academic Staff Union that the ministry has not abandon the issue.
ASUU Strike Nigeria: Resumption date for schools?
ASUU latest strike was suppose to end on the 9th of May 2022.
However, no clear end to the lingering strike action has been laid on ground.
Negotiation between the goverment and ASUU delegates are on standstill as both parties are blaming each other for the ongoing strike.
ASUU claims that the goverment has decided to abandon the negotiation and refuse to pay ttheir salaries.
Nigeria Minister of State for Education say the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) cannot dictate the Federal Goverment about the platform to use to pay them.
In one of the interviews in Abuja, Emeka Nwajiuba said that the govement are facing financial difficaulties.
And the goverment can't borrow money to pay the salaries instead they put all the money in construction of infrastructure, Nwajiuba added.
